Easter fun – decorating, chocolate and family time

DIY decorating

I love Easter! Not just because of the excessive amounts of chocolate eggs I receive and get to eat but it also means my Birthday is around the corner and I love Birthday celebrations – it means I get cake, LOTs of cake!

My Easter weekend involved making a start on decorating my bedroom. With Spring making an appearance I thought it would be a great opportunity to have a fresh new bedroom and a much-needed Spring clean – good riddance Christmas clutter!

With only a small budget, I decided to do it all myself (with the help of Bobby, who has more patience than I so mastered the glossing and walls whilst I paint the small extras – old photo frames, accessories etc.)

I decided to go for bright white colour, taking inspiration from my Pinterest boards which feature a lot of white and grey colour scheme bedrooms – definitely digging the fresh, minimal white, grey and black look.

Taking inspiration from Pinterest, I opted for grey oak wooden effect flooring, bright white walls, light bedding and white furniture. I love Ikea’s MALM series, which offers an affordable bedroom range – I purchased a 4 draw chest of draws and a side table.

Finishing it off with some candles, photo frames – recycling old frames with a lick of paint and some cheap accessories, again from Ikea.

The end result photos are yet to come as I am still waiting for my new flooring and furniture to be built – I’m excited to show the final look.

The rest of my Easter involved chocolate eggs, a lovely Quorn roast dinner, courtesy of my sister, dog walks and family time – Perfect <3
